We want everyone to be able to use goodminded.org. Accessibility isn’t an afterthought for us — building technology that works for people who are too often left out is close to the heart of what Good Minded does. We hold our own site to the same standard we hold the work we do for others.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the widely recognized standard for making web content usable by people with a broad range of abilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or voice control.

What we do to get there

• Keyboard access: you can navigate and use the site without a mouse, with visible focus indicators so you always know where you are.
• Screen-reader support: semantic headings and structure, descriptive link text, and alternative text on meaningful images.
• Readable contrast: text and interactive elements are checked for sufficient color contrast.
• Responsive and flexible: the site adapts to different screen sizes and reflows when you zoom or increase text size.
• Accessible forms: clear labels, helpful error messages, and no reliance on color alone to convey meaning.

Where we know we fall short

We’re honest that no site is ever perfectly accessible, and ours is a work in progress. Some content provided through third-party tools — for example the Givebutter donation widget — is outside our direct control, and its accessibility may vary. If any part of the site gets in your way, please tell us (below) and we’ll help you directly and work to fix it.

The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and common assistive technologies. If you’re using older technology and having trouble, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.
